About Gary Michuta

Gary here. I'd love to come to your parish or conference and speak on Catholic apologetics and evangelism. Since the early 1990s, it has been my mission to inspire and equip Catholics around the United States and Canada to be compassionate and competent defenders of our Catholic Faith. I have been honored to share my knowledge on apologetics and evangelism in some of the best Catholic media outlets and programs such as EWTN, Catholic Answers, The Journey Home, Kresta in the Afternoon, Catholic Connection, Relevant Radio, The Son Rise Morning Show, Spirit Morning Show, Envoy Magazine, Franciscan University of Steubenville Summer Conference, The Catholic Answer Magazine, Deep in Scripture, The Cardinal Maida Institute, The Michigan Catholic, just to name a few.

Gary is also the host of Hands On Apologetics Live on Virgin Most Powerful Radio (Monday-Friday, 1PM).

Recently, I was invited to "The Journey Home" with Marcus Grodi (EWTN) to talk a little bit about my journey of Faith within the Catholic Church and discussed a few of my books, How to Wolf-proof Your Kids, Why Catholic Bibles Are Bigger, and Making Sense of Mary.

For a slightly more detailed account of my journey in the Faith and my introduction to apologetics, I gave my story for the Army of Apostles podcast program.

In the early 1990s, Gary founded "Thy Faith Inc.," a lay-run non-profit Catholic apologetics organization formed to help Catholics and non-Catholic better understand the Catholic Faith. He was also the contributing editor of its bi-monthly magazine "Hands On Apologetics." In 1995, Gary wrote his first book, "The Gospel According to James McCarthy," which debunks the popular anti-Catholic work "The Gospel According to Rome" by James McCarthy. Although Thy Faith, Inc. closed its doors, Gary continued his work in the field of Catholic apologetics. In 2000, Gary became the director of apologetics for the Eastern Churches Re-evangelization Center (ECRC) in south-east Michigan. He also penned his second book, "Why Catholic Bibles Are Bigger: The Untold Story of the Lost Books of the Protestant Bible." This was the first book, written by a Catholic, dedicated to the topic of the Deuterocanon since 1890. A new field had opened up for Gary in 2005, teaching parents and children how to defend and explain the Faith. "How to Wolf-Proof Your Kids" became Gary's third book and it focuses on how parents can make it more difficult for anti-Catholics to pull their children out of the Church. He also joined the teaching team at Homeschool Connections where he continues to offer on-line classes in apologetics for middle-school, high school, and adults. Early in 2013, Gary, Steven Piskorowski, Paul Thomas, Lisa Campbell, and Bobby Hesley, banded together to form the "Army of Apostles" podcasting ministry. The year also marked the publication of Gary's latest book, "Making Sense of Mary."

Over the years, Gary has given hundreds of talks, classes, and seminars around the country. He as debated noted anti-Catholics both on radio and in public. He is also a frequent guest on Catholic radio and the internet.
